Artist Opportunities

Red Wing Arts values our artist community and will be posting art calls and additional satellite opportunities as they are available.

ABOUT THE EXHIBIT

United Way of GWP, in collaboration with Red Wing Arts and the Sheldon Theatre, invites artists to participate in the Freshly Painted: Creating Brighter Futures art exhibition and fundraising auction. We believe art has the power to bring communities together and is a vital piece in solving important social issues for all sections of our communities. All proceeds will be used to help provide solutions for people experiencing homelessness.

When creating or submitting a piece, think about what home means to you. What feelings does the word ‘home’ invoke? What colors, textures or images come to mind? Our hope is to offer a variety of perspectives and pieces to answer these questions. This exhibition and fundraising event, Freshly Painted, combines the idea of a freshly painted home with the paint, brushes, and other mediums and tools used to create art. Together, we can create brighter futures.

SALE OF ARTWORK

RWA handles all sales of work while on exhibit. The artist will retain a 50% commission of the sale price on his/her sold or purchased artwork. Artists will be paid no later than 30 days after the close of the exhibit. Artists may instead choose to donate all or part of the proceeds to United Way’s strategic housing initiative (United Way recognizes times are tough for everyone).

GUIDELINES

1. Send All submissions to artcall@redwingarts.org

2. Submit up to three artworks and include one images for each artwork.  Images should be in JPEG format.

3. Image list can be submitted in the body of the email

• Dimensions

• Retail Price

4. For each submission, please submit a brief description of your artwork and how it connects to the exhibition theme.
