ARTSpeak - Artist Professional Development Series

2nd Tuesday of each month - 6:30-8 pm

Red Wing Arts is pleased to announce the relaunching our monthly ARTSpeak artist professional development program in 2025

Join us in our Depot Gallery from 6:30-8 pm on the 2nd Tuesday of each month for this program - offered at no cost - which supports both emerging and established artists.

Every other month we will offer panel discussions featuring experts on topics which provide business acumen and growth tailored towards artists. Every other month we will host facilitated artwork critique and networking sessions. Creatives working in all disciplines welcome!

Our 2025 Summer Concerts in the Park line up will be announced in May. Interested in participating? Apply online by the February 24, 2025 deadline. Bands will be notified of their status by March 24, 2025.

2025 Red Wing Arts Plein Air

Submission Deadline: April 10, 2025

Red Wing Arts celebrates our 19th annual event in 2025, bringing artists to our community from around the region to paint “recognizable” Red Wing en Plein Air. Meaning approximately “open air” in French, Plein Air is a study of how light and shadow interact with things, creating a snapshot of one moment in time that can never be repeated. Red Wing sits at the entrance to the Driftless Region. We are a stunning place with a charming downtown, dramatic bluffs, rolling hills, vistas and winding rivers that define our historic town. Our exhibit includes over 100 works that are judged and hung in our Depot Gallery. Now accepting online applications to participate as a Featured Class Artist, with an April 10, 2025 deadline.

Apply as a Juried Featured Artist
Applications are now open to participate as a Juried Featured Artist in our 2025 Red Wing Arts Plein Air, awarding $5,000 in cash prizes. To participate, apply online by submitting 3 recent plein air images and paying a $45 application fee by April 10, 2025. Artists will be notified of their status by April 25, 2025.

Juried Featured Artists paint Red Wing between June 12-19, 2025 and must submit 3 paintings for the exhibit by 10 am on Thursday, June 19, 2025. If invited as a Juried Featured Artist, you are welcome to participate in all artist events, including Quick Paint on Saturday, June 21, 2025. Artists not juried in as a Featured Artist will be automatically eligible to participate as an Open Class artist, and welcome to participate in all artist events, with no additional participation fee. Questions? email pleinair@redwingarts.org

2025 Red Wing Area Studio Tour

Studio Tour: Sat, July 26 - 10-5 & Sun, July 27 - 10-3

Red Wing Arts and the Anderson Center at Tower View are proud to present the fourth annual Red Wing Area Studio Tour July 26 & 27, 2025. This self-guided tour and sale connect scores of visitors & buyers with 35+ artists across 12+ locations in and around the Red Wing area. Applications close at midnight on Tuesday, April 8.

Artists can apply as either studio artists (hosting visitors at your location) or a guest artist (showing your work at another studio or location).

Artists may apply to participate as:

• an Established Artist (those who have been selling or showing art for more than 2 years)
  -or-

• as an Early Career Artist (those who have not shown work publicly or have very limited selling or exhibition experience). To inquire about an early career application and participation fee, please email heather@redwingarts.org

2025 Red Wing Arts Fall Festival

Festival: Sat, Oct 11 - 10-5 & Sun, Oct 12 - 10-4

Each year we invite approximately 120 artists working in ceramics, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking and wood to participate.

Teaching Artists - Come Teach with Us!

At our Red Wing Arts Clay & Creative Center, located in Red Wing, Minnesota, we seek unique approaches, and skill sets that provide a rich learning experience for our participants. Our audience ranges from beginners to intermediate skill levels in various mediums, including clay. Typically, our guest teaching artists hold workshops on the weekends, and we are open to other times.

The maximum number of participants is approximately 20, depending on the art medium. We strive to have an intimate and focused learning environment. Additionally, we are looking for teaching artists who are interested in marketing these workshops to their current audience, helping to broaden our community of artists and enthusiasts.
