Multi-Media Visual Journaling with Cherish Haskell

  • Red Wing Arts Clay & Creative Center 1920 Old W Main Street Red Wing, MN, 55066 United States (map)

A combination diary/sketchbook/scrapbook - a visual journal can be anything you want it to be! Most importantly, an art or visual journal is about allowing yourself to be creative and expressing yourself without having to be “perfect”. Anything is allowed - drawing, painting, printing, collaging, stamping, tracing, stickers… You get to choose!

We will spend a little time discussing the pros and cons of different types of sketchbooks and some helpful tips and prompts to begin a journaling habit. For the majority of the class, we will explore various materials and techniques to create “starter” pages that can be added to at a later date.

Supplies needed: Bring an open mind and a sketchbook! There is no need to spend a lot on a sketchbook but keep in mind that thicker pages can handle more water media without warping or tearing. All other supplies will be provided by the instructor.
