Join us for an Artist Pop-up featuring Juliane Shibata on Saturday, October 10, from 11 am-1 pm! During this special event, Juliane will demonstrate how she layers her ceramic surfaces with patterns and broken shards.

Juliane Shibata is a Japanese American ceramic artist and educator based in Northfield, Minnesota. A Wyoming native, Juliane fell in love with the natural world at a young age. After contemplating a career in horticulture, she changed course when she began working with clay as an undergraduate at Carleton College. Juliane went on to receive her MFA from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and currently creates sculptural wall installations and site-specific public art. Recent grants include a 2026 Forecast Public Art Mid-Career Project Grant, a 2026 Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, and a 2025 Center for Craft Teaching Artist Cohort Grant.
