Have you wondered how a poetry book comes together? Robert Hedin, Art Kenyon, and Carol Inderieden will lead an interactive discussion around the creative process, techniques, tools and mechanics of developing a completed book. They will read poetry and explain the development of illustrations supporting some of those poems. Additionally, they will show the tools and the process for constructing a physical book and techniques for book binding. Samples will be available.

Robert Hedin
Born and raised in Red Wing, Minnesota, Robert Hedin is the author, translator, and editor of more than two dozen books of poetry, most recently “Dancing with Columbus” published by Nodin Press, 2026.  The recipient of numerous honors and awards for his work, including three National Endowment for the Aerts Fellowships as well as fellowships from the Bush and McKnight Foundations, he has taught at the University of Alaska, the University of Minnesota, St. Olaf College, and Wake Forest University. He is co-founder and former director of the Anderson Center, an artist retreat in Red Wing.  He lives in Frontenac, Minnesota.

Carol Inderieden
Carol Inderieden is a letterpress printer and bookmaker who has collaborated with Robert Hedin and Art Kenyon on two books of poetry and a chapbook. Her studio is near Pepin, Wisconsin. She is currently working on an artist book about wildlife preservation and habitat.

Art Kenyon
A long-time resident of Red Wing, Minnesota, Art Kenyon is a visual artist working in a variety of mediums including oil, acrylic, woodblock prints, graphite drawings, and copperplate etchings. His work can be seen in numerous art galleries, private collections and public exhibitions. Art also creates public art and is the illustrator of several books and publications. His studio resides on the campus of the Anderson Center at Tower View in Red Wing.
