Each month we feature a area artist in our Depot Shop - our March featured artist is Chap Achen. Come meet the artist on Saturday, March 14 from 12-2 pm! During this pop-up Chap will have an expanded offering of prints available for sale and will demonstrate his collection of film and digital cameras in our Depot Gallery. He’ll share how different formats, lenses, and camera systems influence the final image, discuss the unique qualities of shooting film versus digital, and talk through the creative and technical decisions behind his work. This is a great opportunity to see the tools of his craft up close, ask questions, and gain insight into his photographic process.

MARCH FEATURED ARTIST OF THE MONTH: CHAP ACHEN

I have been photographing the area in and around Red Wing for almost 50 years and winter is my favorite subject. I am often drawn to black and white presentation.

Digital photography changed my approach but I still enjoy the monochrome image. I now have the luxury of shooting in color and making decisions based on the best presentation of the image. Portraits and Travel are favorites today.
