About our Board of Directors

The Red Wing Arts is a 501(c)3 nonprofit serving the community and the area of Red Wing MN. Our mission is to support and advance the work of artists in our region and build a community that recognizes, appreciates and celebrates the importance of artists and the power of art in our lives. The Red Wing Arts is recognized as a major cultural and economic catalyst where our lives, jobs and families are improved through art.

Red Wing Arts Board of Director Expectations:

  • Support the Mission Statement of RWA.

  • Actively engage and recruit the community to participate in RWA.

  • Work as a part of a cohesive team with common goals.

  • Share his/her skills and expertise.

  • Dedicate time to RWA and RWA board meetings.

  • Respect and support the majority decisions of the Board.

  • Volunteer and assist in RWA programs and activities, include fundraising efforts.

  • Participate actively in Board meetings, actions, fundraisers, and public events.

  • Have no more than three (3) consecutive unexcused absences from board meetings and/or activities.

  • Represent all those whom this organization serve.

  • Remain aware of the activities that are planned and make yourself available to participate.

  • Declare conflicts of interest as it pertains to your position on the Board and abstain from voting when appropriate. Do your best to ensure that the Red Wing Arts is well-maintained, financially secure, growing and always operating in the best interest of our community.

Red Wing Arts Board of Director Terms:
Each director elected shall serve for three (3) years and may serve no more than two (2) consecutive terms. Directors are not to exceed a cumulative total of nine (9) years.
