Red Wing Arts (RWA) is excited to announce the 25th Annual Poet Artist Collaboration! We seek 24 juried Poets and 24 juried Artists to participate in this popular annual event which includes an art exhibit of collaborative artworks and poems, poetry readings, and the creation of a chapbook featuring all artwork and poetry. From the selected poems, the selected Artists create a new piece of art inspired by one of the poems.

Important Dates:
January 7:
Poet and Artist submission deadline
January 26: Notification of artist and poet acceptance
January 26: Poetry available for artists to read
January 29 starting at 7pm (no earlier): Artists send in their top 5 poem choices.
February 4: Poems are assigned in order they are received. Artists will have 2 months to create their artwork inspired by this poem
March 25: Email high-res image of artwork emailed to Red Wing Arts
April 13: Delivery of install-ready artwork to Red Wing Arts Depot Gallery
April 17: Exhibit Opens
April 17: Opening Reception, 5:30-8pm
April 26 & May 17: Celebration of Poetry & Art Events, 2-4pm

Artist Submission Guidelines
· Artists can submit up to three recent examples of your work that evoke visual storytelling.
· Please keep images to under 3 MB.
· Submission is completed by paying the $15 application fee.

Additional Information
· Artwork may be any medium, including photography, mixed media and sculpture.
· Artists may either enter to create an artwork, or submit poetry, but not both.
· Instructions on how to access, read, and select preferred poems will be provided January 26th to accepted artists.
· Artists send top five poem choices, starting at (not before) 7pm on January 29th.
· Deadline for high-res image of artwork is March 25th (no later, and we encourage earlier if possible). Images should be in PNG or JPEG format, and 300 dpi is preferred. Images will be used for advertising purposes and for the 2026 Poet Artist Collaboration chapbook.
· Deadline for delivery of artwork to Red Wing Arts is by April 13th.
· Work must be ready for display. 2D work must be framed or ready to hang.
· All art pieces must be priced to include Red Wing Arts 50% commission (20% of RWA commission will go to the poet for any sold pieces of artwork).
· Additional instructions will be provided to accepted artists.

Poetry Submission Guidelines
· Poets may submit one poem. Your submitted poem, if selected by the poetry juror, will be one of the poems used by a participating artist to create a new piece of artwork for display with the poem in the exhibit.
· Previously published work IS accepted.
· Poem must be no more than two pages.
· Please do not submit a poem and artworks as a pair. The purpose of the exhibit is to create a new collaboration.
· Do NOT include your name within the poem document.
· Poem must be provided as both a Word document AND a pdf.

Additional Information
· If the artwork created from this collaboration sells, the poet will receive 20% of the selling price.
· Font and font size may be standardized in the chapbook created.
· Accepted poets will be strongly encouraged to participate in one of our poetry readings in our gallery.
· Accepted poets will be expected to provide an poet statement for their poem no later than March 25, 2026.
· Additional instructions will be provided to accepted poets.
