Introduction to Wheel Throwing

This class combines instructor-led demonstrations with hands-on practice, focusing on the fundamentals of throwing on the potter’s wheel. Students will learn all the stages of making a pot, including wedging, throwing on the wheel, trimming and glazing. This class is perfect for beginners or those looking to continue practice on the wheel with guided instruction. Class fee includes clay, all glazing materials, firings and open studio time to practice outside of class.

Class Information:

  • Dates: Wednesdays from 5:30pm-7:30pm

    • Session 1: Sept. 23 - Oct. 28

    • Session 2: Nov. 4 - Dec. 16 (No class Nov. 25)

  • Teaching artist: Cherish Haskell

  • Level: Beginner, Intermediate

  • Ages: 16+

  • Participation fee: $275
