Celebrate the haunting beauty of the season!

Inspired by the dramatic lighting, deep shadows, and rich symbolism of 17th-century vanitas paintings, this class invites you to gather around a still life arrangement featuring playful and mysterious curiosities such as brooding skulls, vintage potion bottles, leather-bound books, and more.

You may work in your choice of medium (charcoal, graphite, pastel, acrylics, watercolor, etc.) with guidance from the instructor. Practice observational skills, capture textures and lighting, and learn about composition and value.

You are encouraged to bring your own materials, however we will have a small assortment of basic art supplies available for use.

Have a fun item to add to the still life? Feel free to bring it along!

Prior drawing and painting experience is helpful, but beginners are welcome.
