About the Artists:
Lisa S. Truax was born and grew up in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. She attended college at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin and received degrees and graduated cum laude in studio art and graphic design, with a minor in business administration. After working in design for five years, she returned to school and received her Master of Fine Arts in Ceramics from Michigan State University in 2009. She currently lives in Winona, Minnesota, teaches as an associate professor at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, and maintains a studio in Pickwick, Minnesota. See her work here.
Mary Beth Magyar was born and raised mostly in California but has lived all over the country. She received a BFA in painting from Michigan State University and a Master's degree in Education at Hamline University in 2022. Magyar has a community engagement and solo practice that are both primarily rooted in clay. She currently lives in Rochester with her husband and maintains a studio with an adorable but generally unhelpful mini poodle assistant. See her work here.
