Sgraffito
This traditional method involves layering underglaze or slip and carving to reveal the color beneath, creating intricate designs. Learn how to apply slip evenly, create detailed designs, and achieve clean lines,
Mishima
This Korean technique involves inlaying colored slip or underglaze into incised lines, producing smooth patterns. Explore incising techniques, applying and wiping color, and enhancing design contrast.
Underglaze Transfers
An approach using pre-designed images or your own hand-painted designs, perfect for layering complex imagery. Learn how to select and prepare commercial transfers, create your own underglaze transfer designs, and achieve smooth application.
