West End Mural
1523 Old West Main Street
In response to the conflict of graffiti on He Mni Can (Barns Bluff), Red Wing Arts engaged artists Peyton Scott Russel to work with our community, educating them on graffiti as an artform.
Using line, space, form, color, balance, pattern, rhythm to manipulate letters and the spaces around those letters to express feeling, emotion, mood, ideas, thoughts, and concepts has been explained by many art critics, curators and museum directors as the most revolutionary idea in the history of art.
The West End Mural was a collaborative effort of 12 community members, led by Peyton Scott Russel. Red Wing Arts partnered with the Artisan Collective and ArtReach to create this opportunity for Red Wing. Dedicated to the city of Red Wing June, 2019 by Mayor Sean Dowse.
